http://dx.doi.org/10.5902/223613086182The present article proposed a research anchored in the Meaningful Learning Theory of DavidAusubel, aiming to know the profile of the students of a class offered in special character of thecurricular component Math for Biological Sciences in the undergraduate courses of Licentiate andBachelor in Biological Sciences in Federal University of Pampa (UNIPAMPA), campus São Gabriel.The methodological approaches and interventions in the learning process were discussed seekingto improve the learning of the students and reducing the dropout, retention and failing rate in theinvestigated curricular component, aspiring to provide a significant learning.
